spoon carving

A few weeks ago I found a link to the blog Wood Spoon Inspired by Nature.

The pictures on that site inspired me to figure out how he was doing that and do it myself. I ended up getting a Mora hook knife and made my first spoon. Nowhere near as good as his but I'm happy with my first try.

Love it - great spoon! I especially like the little bit on the handle so you (I guess) can hang it. I'm going to do that with my next spoon (I've made about 4).
Cheers,
Mungo

WOw, your first spoon came out awesome!!! I carved my first spoon this summer with a frost knife, and it did not come out nearly as dainty as yours. Mine looked like Fred Flinstons made it...
Did you gouge out the spoon part with your mora knife too?

That is so cool. I didn't even know you could make a spoon like that. Impressive.

I love it! I've always had a desire to learn carpentry, and, hey, for me, a spoon would be carpentry :D
